A Faith Worth Following
What does it truly mean to abide in Christ, and how does that shape the lives of those watching us? At the heart of this message is John 15:1-8, where Jesus presents himself as the true vine and calls us, as branches, to remain deeply connected to him. The imagery is striking and intentional: a branch cut off from the vine cannot produce anything on its own. In the same way, our spiritual fruitfulness is not the result of trying harder or doing more, but of staying rooted in Christ. The message challenges us to examine three gauges of our spiritual health: patience, depth, and community. Are we willing to endure the slow, sometimes difficult seasons that build genuine character? Are our roots going deep enough into the truth of who God is, or are we constantly searching for something more? These are not comfortable questions, but they are necessary ones. The insight that shifts everything is this: rather than praying for God to help us live our lives for him, we are invited to pray that he would live his life through us. That single reorientation changes how we approach our work, our relationships, our struggles, and our faith. If we take our faith seriously, those around us, especially the next generation, will notice. And that is a calling worth rising to.
