Why Church?
Church was never meant to be a place where rules are the focus.
It is easy for the North American church to lose sight of the message of Jesus. Jesus taught us to love, to go the extra mile. He taught us about sacrifice and commitment.
We must strive to daily live as he lived, not only on Sunday mornings but everyday. This is the beauty of being part of a church community. Here we learn and worship together, encourage and pray for one another. We can also challenge each other to deepen our understanding and our commitment to Jesus.
That is the key focus of our Sunday morning services.
Church however, is much more than just what happens on Sunday morning. Church is everyday! It is at home, at work, school and in our local neighbourhoods.
Jesus said "I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. (Matthew 16:18 NLT). This is a clear declaration by Jesus of what he will do, and he is doing it. What a privilege for us to join in, to participate in what God is doing in our midst. People are giving their lives to Jesus, prayers are being answers, the broken are finding healing and the mission is not over. The church of Jesus has and will continue to shine the light of Jesus into the darkness.
We together, can join in. It starts with a personal relationship with Jesus. Saying Yes to him for our salvation, and also saying Yes to serving him with our whole lives.
