Come and Adore Jesus

Dec 25, 2025    Ike Unger

This Christmas message strips away the familiar trappings of shepherds and wise men to reveal something profoundly personal: the miracle of Jesus' birth wasn't just a historical event—it's an ongoing transformation available to each of us today. Through John's streamlined account of Christmas and Paul's letter to the Ephesians, we discover that we were 'spoken forth' before the foundation of the world, chosen and purposed with intention. The sermon explores what it means to be formed into the image of Christ, moving from trying to create our own identity to allowing God to shape us into who we were always meant to be. This isn't about behaviour modification or adding religious duties to our lives; it's about experiencing 'the great reversal'—surrendering our need to control and prove ourselves, and instead finding our true identity in Christ. Christmas reminds us that God came precisely to meet us in our brokenness, loneliness, and pain.
