Worship in Community

What if worship isn't about the songs we prefer, the volume we like, or even the comfort of our Sunday morning experience? This powerful message challenges us to examine the very heart of why we gather as believers. Drawing from Acts 2 and the early church's devotion to community worship, we're reminded that the miracle of the church isn't about us—it's about what Jesus has done for us. The passage from 1 Corinthians 1 strips away any illusions we might have about our own importance, revealing that God chose the foolish, the weak, and the lowly so that no one could boast except in Him. When we come to church as consumers rather than contributors, we miss the transformative power of offering ourselves as living sacrifices. The story of Soul Survivor Church in the UK, where the worship leader Matt Redman wrote 'The Heart of Worship' after the church stripped away all music to rediscover authentic worship, serves as a profound reminder: worship is always for Him, about Him, with Him, in Him, through Him, and towards Him.
