What happens when the very thing we need is the one thing we do not have? In John 6, we find ourselves standing on a crowded hillside with thousands of hungry people and no clear way to feed them. This is not just a story about a miracle. It is a story about a man named Philip and the way his God-given wiring both shaped him and limited him. Philip was a facts-and-figures person, an analyst who had already done the math before Jesus even finished asking the question. And that is precisely why Jesus asked him. The test was never about gathering information. It was a mirror, held up so Philip could see himself clearly. We explore what it means when our own personality, the very way God designed us, becomes the obstacle standing between us and trusting him fully.
